SHOULD I CHOOSE AN AUTOMATIC OR MANUAL CAR?

Automatics are renowned for being easy to drive, with no need to worry about stalling. This means they really come into their own if you regularly make long journeys - for example, when you’re in slow-moving traffic you won’t have to keep pressing the clutch and moving from neutral into first.

On the other hand, manual gearboxes generally give you a bit more control. If you’re a real petrol-head you might find manuals more exciting to drive, as they offer a more ‘hands-on’ experience.

It’s worth bearing in mind that automatics can sometimes be more expensive than their manual counterparts, so they may not be the best choice if you’re on a budget. It is important to remember that if you hold a manual driving licence, you can legally drive both a manual and an automatic car, however if you hold an automatic license you can only legally drive an automatic car.
