When the vehicle is travelling at vehicle speeds of approximately 37mph or above and is departing the lane without the driver using a turn signal, the system vibrates the steering wheel and lights a warning indicator in the instrument cluster to draw attention to lane departures caused by factors such as inattention to the road. Under these conditions, the driver will also notice an automatic input from the steering wheel to ensure the car remains in its correct direction of travel.

When the vehicle is traveling at vehicle speeds of approximately 37mph or above and is weaving from side to side within a lane, the system sounds a warning buzzer and lights an indicator on the instrument panel. This quickly draws the driver’s attention to weaving caused by drowsiness or other factors.

A camera built into the instrument panel monitors the drivers eyes and a near-infrared LED illuminates the drivers face to enable monitoring in low light. If the system detects that the driver is drowsy, falling asleep, or looking away from the road, it sounds a warning alarm and displays an alert message on the information display. The system detects driver drowsiness by monitoring the degree of eyelid closing and yawn frequencies. If this is detected at speeds of approximately 43mph or more, the monitoring system will advise the driver to take a break by sounding an alarm and displaying an alert message on the information display.

Lane changing at speeds above 10mph is made safer with the addition of the Blind Spot Monitor function. The system has two rear mounted side radar sensors that are capable of detecting vehicles located in or approaching the rear blind spots on either side of the vehicle. Once detected, a warning LED icon is illuminated in the relevant exterior mirror. If the driver ignores it and indicates to change lanes, a flashing LED icon is accompanied by a warning sound alert.

At speeds of 25mph or higher, high beam assist is designed to automatically switch the headlights between “High” and “Low”, depending on the presence of other vehicles and also the lighting environment.

In the event of a serious collision, the eCall system sends an automated message with the vehicle’s current location to emergency services. The system can be activated automatically by in-vehicle sensors after a crash, or manually by vehicle occupants pushing the SOS button.

First introduced on the S-Cross Hybrid model in 2022, Suzuki is now introducing Suzuki Connect^*1 in the UK and European markets for the new Swift.

Suzuki Connect utilises the vehicle’s data communication module (DCM) to connect users to their vehicles in real time, enabling users to take advantage of convenient functions via the Suzuki Connect smartphone app^*2.

By connecting the vehicle via the Suzuki Connect app, available on Android and iOS, users can access a wide range of convenient connected services, including the ability to monitor and receive notifications about the status of their vehicle in real time, remotely lock and unlock the vehicle, and view information such as driving history and the location of their parked car.

Users can also choose to receive maintenance-related information and warning light notifications via the Suzuki Connect app, and if an issue is detected, vital diagnostic information can be seamlessly shared with their registered Suzuki dealer, allowing for faster and more comprehensive after-sales support.

As technological advancements in connected technology transform the way people interact with their vehicles, Suzuki will continue to make extensive and effective use of connected car technology to offer an even more convenient and more reassuring Suzuki customer experience.

Using their smartphone, drivers can monitor and receive notifications about their vehicle’s status, as well as lock and unlock the vehicle remotely

Notifies the user via the smartphone app when they have left the car without locking the doors or have forgotten to turn off the headlamps or hazard lamps. Unlocked doors can be remotely locked using the smartphone, without needing to return to the vehicle.

Allows users to check the vehicle’s driving history data from the past 18 months via the smartphone app, including day-to-day driving records, drive duration, distance, average fuel consumption, and starting points and destinations.

In case another driver is using the vehicle, users can receive smartphone notifications when the car enters, leaves, or is absent from a set area during a set period of time.

Alerts the user’s smartphone if the security alarm has been triggered or if the engine is started during a set period when the car is not in use.

Alerts the user via smartphone when a warning light appears in the car. For added peace of mind, users can receive information on the possible cause of the warning light, as well as on-the-spot advice via the app. Roadside assistance^*4 and Suzuki dealers can also be contacted directly via the app.

Sends notifications to remind owners of scheduled periodic maintenance, and when recalls and service campaigns are announced.

The ACC system fitted as standard on both Swift models combines cruise control technology with the system’s milliwave radar (previously only lidar) and monocular camera to make driving easier and more relaxing. The system measures the distance to the vehicle in front and automatically adjusts road speed to maintain any of four driver selected headway distances.

All Swift models benefit from a full-colour 9-inch High Definition multimedia display that includes the audio control, standard equipment navigation system, rear view camera image and connectivity for both Apple CarPlay and Android devices via USB and WI-Fi.

Apple CarPlay is the smarter and safer way to use an iPhone in the Swift. Apart from making calls it also facilitates receiving directions for optimised traffic conditions, listening to music, accessing email, text messages and more. Android Auto device users can also enable Google Assistant voice commands to access a wide variety of supported apps.

Rear parking sensors are now standard across the Swift range.

Low cost of ownership is ensured with the inclusion of Service Activated Warranty toall Suzuki customers. Introduced in April 2023, Service Activated Warranty is offeredfree of charge once the car reaches the end of its manufacturer warranty period andis then booked in for its next scheduled service within the Suzuki Dealer network. Thiswarranty stays in place until the next qualifying service and is then simply renewedagain up to a maximum vehicle age of 7 years / 100,000 miles - whichever comes first.

As an enhancement to Suzuki’s well renowned product reliability record, Service Activated Warranty offers ‘Peace of Mind as Standard’ as well as customer retention within its network of new car dealers and authorised repair centres.

Major components are covered, and should a customer decide to sell their car between services and within the seven-year qualifying period, the warranty can simply be transferred to the next owner – again free of charge.

Additionally, Service Activated Warranty can also be applied to a qualifying Suzuki that has been purchased privately or has a gap in its dealer service history providing it goes through a Suzuki Vehicle Health Check in the first instance.
